We are delighted to share that in 2023 another chapter was added to the success story of Primates for Primates. It comes with pride and gratitude to share that our annual donations keep growing at a double-digit percentage rate.
More than USD 30’000 donated
Thanks to our great community of primate enthusiasts, we were able to donate over USD 30’000 to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. On top of that, we supported Glückskette’s efforts in Syria / Türkiye and the Brazil-based Santa Fé organization. This increase in income is mostly driven by additional events and a revised membership structure.
Our main partner, the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, continues their tireless efforts for a world where gorillas and people thrive together. Research, education, the creation of resilient and sustainable communities and direct gorilla protection activities contribute to more stable numbers of gorilla populations. But those are very much needed, as the trackers in Rwanda and DR Congo had to dismantle the shocking number of over 3’000 snares over the last 12 months. Poaching of these beautiful creatures continues to be a sad reality and the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund’s work is of crucial importance to protect our fellow primates.
2024 outlook
In 2024, we will further intensify our collaboration with the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, continue our efforts to enhance our network and most importantly will continue doing good by having fun together with our amazing members and supporters! The dates for our Caipi Parties in 2024 at Talacker 41 in Zurich are already set. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
